HISTORY
Welcome!

At the Studio of the Three Arrows the modern environmental movement began with the use of motion pictures. There, the first nature movie was made and shown. Three years later AC Pillsbury would stop the cutting of the meadows and reverse Park policy with the invention of the lapse-time camera, allowing the flowers to tell their own story.

Until then environmental action was limited to a social elite. AC took the knowledge of the natural world with all of its beauty and power to the people

Over those years AC's three children grew up along with their friends who came up to work in the Studio, tinting photos, before color photography existed, though AC certainly worked on that. This was the first nature center, where people learned about the natural world and its miracles of life.

There are more stories than you can imagine. Each photo comes with its story and grouped together the stories show you the flow of time through those years.
